Leaving Texas, Co-Creating day by day

For several weeks, I will admit I have had doubts of the sanity of this whole thing. Also, for weeks now, I have consistently brought my self back from the brink of giving up all together: giving up on the dream of a new home; a new community, and new ways to share the Friendly Universe work. And how did I do this?

I took a breath, and then another one. I got present. The subtitle of Book One is Your Presence is Requested. No better words for us all right now.

Morning coffee revelation: What do I beleive?

There’s power in traveling through unfamiliar territory, a chance to uncover patterns I am so used to, I don’t even know they are in operation in my life. Good and bad habits  come out of the gloom of life’s ruts, and into the broad daylight of awareness. So far I’ve uncovered relationship patterns that were…

Attention Walmart Shoppers: Om Shanti, Namaste and Amen.

Heads down, the Sunday after-church shoppers were on some sort of mission from God or maybe the Devil: urgent, almost shoving people to get out of the way. The usual Texas politeness gave way completely–probably because of the damned heat they had to return to outside.

Frequently, I consider times and moods like these as opportunities for some group healing and “smoothing of feathers”. I admit to having some worries of my own* as I pushed my cart through the veggie aisle, and then remembered how much I enjoy this challenge. So I beamed.

What lurks in the shadows?

When one tiptoes in the shadows of the unknown, always on high alert for danger, one is not in a state of receptivity. Discovery, wonder, gratitude–these states of being are not on the menu du jour. Fear, anxiety, resentment take over. When we uncovered our deepest fears and assumptions, we both saw that we had the same intentions for the journey, but we had to find a healthier way to deal withe stresses of such an open ended trip.

Letting go and getting to our stations

now I can see out the rear-view mirror, which, for some reason, feels nice. Sometimes its good to know where one came from.

We decided to lighten with this intent: We are open to the gifts of the journey: places to stay and cook and connect and work and play. We are open to being at the right place at the right time. We are open to meeting whoever we need to. We are open.

Moving southward: tell us where to go!

This is the last day of staying in the lil’ cabin in the woods of Pt Gamble. 2 weeks of rain and forest and sea and rest and some good spurts of writing…

journey alone, journey together

I believe i have been a journeyer all my life. From childhood and well into adulthood, I had the  sneaking suspicion that I was just a visitor to this planet, so  I saw just about everything through the eyes of a journeyer. Rather than simply accept whatever status quo I was taught, I’d ask questions…

the road trip begins

Hello from a small cabin in the woods, offered by a wonderful family I’ve worked with. We are still in Washington state in the tiny historic town of Pt. Gamble, catching our breath after a tumultuous and exhausting move. We’ve managed to downsize our 3 story home of 20 years to a 10 x 15 storage unit and a car: quite the achievement!. My buying habits are forever changed; more stuff right now is not attractive, and I envision our future home to be less cluttered with all that stuff.

But we shall see, because…

We’ve only just begun our Spirit Trip .
